Trip to: Annecy, France

This summer my cousin and I decided to do an holiday togheter.
We already had plans to stop a few days at Col de Joux in Valle d'Aosta, so we thought we were already there, starting from France. Looking at the map, the first city that catch our attention was Annecy.

We left on August 17 in the morning and in less than three hours we arrived at our hotel, that was at Argonay, about ten minutes from Annecy.

(The hotel is the Hotel Formule1, a chain of low cost hotels (32 euros a night for room).
In the room there was only a double bed, a washbasin and the TV, while the bathrooms were on the floor.
It' s an essential hotel, but very clean, we've never found
the bathrooms dirty. We also did breakfast (it costs 3.50 euros), there was some things to eat and drink. For us, italians, it was good, but I think that if you used to eat more than a croissant and a toast, you'll find it a little bit poor.)

In the afternoon, we started to visit Annecy. We left the car in Avenue de Brogny (near a shopping centre) and we took Rue Carnot, direct to the lake. We went to the Tourist Office, Rue Jean Juarès, but we hadn't found nothing interesting, because we had download some informations from the site.

We take Rue du Paquier, where you can find The de Sales House and the Saint-Jean well.We turn left in Rue Notre-Dame, where you can see the Notre-Dame de Liesse Church e the former Bishop's palace (in the photo).

Proseguiamo il nostro tour e vediamo:

- Chiesa di Saint Maurice

- Chiesa di Saint François

- Cattedrale di Saint Pierre

Them we see:
- Saint Maurice Church
- Saint François Church
- Saint Pierre Church.

We pass through Saint Claire gate e we go to the symbol of the city, the Palais de l'Ile, that was a prison form the middle ages till 1865.
It's very beautiful to see it in the night, with all the lights on!

We take a rest in one of the many bars, and me, that I'm greedy, I take a crépe with Nutella.

After a grind for going to the castle, we discover that it was closed, so we continue our walk and after lot lot lot gaps, we arrive at the highest point of the city, where you can find the Visitation Basilica.

We came back to the centre of the town, we eat a huge salad in a pub and after dinner we return to our hotel.

... Alla prossima puntata!

The next morning we visit the Castle (I've paid only 2,50 euro because I'm a student, so don't forget your card!). In the castle we saw works of Contemporary Art, not piece of period furniture.
Then we've done shopping in Rue Carnot e we take a sandwich for lunch in the Europe Park, where  can't not say you that you can dind th Berthollet statue, a famous chemist, who invented the bleach.

After lunch, we enjoyed the lake life and then we've lived to...

... you'll know soon!

Annecy is a very beautiful town, you have to see it in the night, with all the light... fantastic... a little Venice!!!

On this maps you can find the place I've mentioned:
